In the middle of the twentieth century, men dominated the field of science fiction. Nevertheless, there were some female SF writers and most of them followed a trail blazed by Catherine Moore. In this chapter we look at Moore’s career and the writing partnership she forged with her husband Henry Kuttner. We also briefly consider the other women authors who had contributions published in the science fiction magazines of 1956.

In the middle of the twentieth century, men dominated the field of science fiction. Nevertheless, there were some female SF writers and most of them followed a trail blazed by Catherine Moore. In this chapter we look at Moore’s career and the writing partnership she forged with her husband Henry Kuttner.
