Islamophobia, Mental Health, and the Israel-Palestine Conflict
摘要
The intersection of Islamophobia, mental health, racism and the Israel-Palestine conflict is a complex and multifaceted issue that has profound implications for individuals and communities worldwide. Islamophobia correlates with social stigmatization, psychological distress and negative mental health outcomes. The October 7 Hamas attacks and the retaliatory violence by Israel in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and Syria have not only resulted in significant loss of life and displacement of millions but have also fueled religious and ethnic tensions globally. This chapter explores the psychological impact of Islamophobia in the context of this violence and examines how these dynamics affect mental health outcomes for Muslims and other affected communities.
