The evolution of the software performance research domain has gone through several fundamental steps that represent the milestones of this discipline. In this paper, five of these steps at the modeling and code level are considered and, after having motivated their relevance in the software performance domain, it is envisioned whether they could be ported and applied to the energy consumption domain, given the natural proximity of performance and energy in software/hardware systems.

摘要

The evolution of the software performance research domain has gone through several fundamental steps that represent the milestones of this discipline.
