Developing Entrepreneurial Competencies and Digital Skills in High School Students Through Project-Based Learning
摘要
In the context of secondary education, entrepreneurship is increasingly recognized as a key competence that students should begin developing already during high school. This paper presents an example of teaching practice carried out in the subject Business Informatics at the Law-Business Secondary School in Belgrade. The activity involved second-year high school students who worked on an individual project assignment aimed at designing and presenting their own business idea. The project lasted five weeks and included the creation of several concrete components that constitute the basis of a business plan, such as a presentation, business card, promotional materials, and a price list. Special emphasis was placed on the use of digital tools, primarily the Canva platform, through which students developed both creative and technical skills. After the project was completed, a survey was conducted with 76 students who participated, in order to examine their experiences, the knowledge they acquired, and their attitudes toward entrepreneurship. The analysis of the responses shows a high level of student engagement, as well as a positive impact of the project on the development of self-confidence, creativity, and interest in entrepreneurial activities. The results also underscore the importance of the teacher’s active role in supporting students and the value of project-based learning in developing functional knowledge and skills within secondary school education. The paper concludes with reflections from a pedagogical perspective and suggestions for further integrating entrepreneurship education into the secondary school curriculum.
