ESG Investment and Sustainable Finance
摘要
ESG investments are also seen as a benchmark in the development of sustainable finance. Financial institutions, for instance banks, have high regard for ESG criteria when the sustainability process must be effective and efficient. Sustainability reporting is supposed to increase the capacity of businesses to create value in the long term by not limiting environmental accountability but encompassing social and economic sustainability principles. Going beyond the traditional investment approach, ESG investments introduce a significant shift in the financial landscape by taking into account environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and best governance practices, in addition to financial returns. While financial institutions play a critical role in facilitating economic growth and global financial stability, they provide stakeholders with a multi-dimensional perspective by providing more and integrated information. The study examines the definition of ESG investments and sustainable finance from a theoretical point of view, elaborating on how the two definitions relate to each other and shape the transformation of the financial sector.
