Investigation on the Heat Transfer Process of Silica Gel Particles Inside a Cylindrical Reactor
摘要
This work presents a preliminary investigation of the conductive heat transfer process of a silica gel packed bed inside a cylindrical reactor, emphasizing the measurement of the heat transfer coefficient (HTC) between the packed bed and the solid heat exchanger. A 0-D model was developed to design the test campaign. The experimental results were compared with the numerical results. The results indicate that the HTC between the whole packed bed and the heat exchanger varies from 4.74 to 4.85 \(\mathrm {W/(m^2\!\cdot \!K)}\) , and the contact HTC at the interface between the heat exchanger and the packed bed is in the range of 13 to 14 \(\mathrm {W/(m^2\!\cdot \!K)}\) . The numerical results reached good agreement with the experimental data. The results of this work will help lay the groundwork for a further study of the adsorption characteristics of the silica gel-water working pair in the cylindrical reactor.
