In this paper, a compact dual-band printed CPW fed monopole antenna configuration is designed for off-body IoT applications. A thin polyimide substrate is used for printing the monopole configuration. The proposed antenna configuration resonates at 2.4 GHz and 4.8 GHz. The overall dimensions of the structure are 37 × 36 × 0.1 mm3. A prototype model of the proposed antenna is developed, measured, and compared with the simulation results for validation. It is found the proposed antenna configuration is a good choice for several wearable IoT applications commonly used in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
