Smart Walker for Rehabilitation
摘要
The Intelligent Walking Aid is an innovative mobility solution designed to assist a diverse range of users, including the elderly, accident victims, specially-abled individuals, and those recovering from sports injuries. The project aims to enhance the efficiency of traditional walking aids by integrating advanced technology for real-time health monitoring and feedback. Utilizing Arduino and Node MCU microcontrollers, the system reads data from force sensors, pulse sensors, body temperature sensors, and accelerometers and uploaded to the Thing speak IoT platform for analysis and monitoring of gait pattern and posture during walking. Key features include a haptic feedback mechanism that alerts users through vibration motors when excessive force is applied, ensuring its safe use. Additionally, an accelerometer-based fall detection system activates a DC motor to mimic inflating, minimizing risk of injury during falls. To further aid in recovery, a separate posture detection device monitors walking posture and provides feedback for corrective actions. This comprehensive approach not only offers physical support but also enhances user safety and helps in faster recovery by monitoring vital health parameters, walking posture and effective feedback.
