The experimental teaching experience presented in this chapter was designed using the Theory of Semiotic Mediation and was conducted with 5-year-old children at three Italian kindergarten. The teaching experiment aimed to build the sense of natural number, through a game and the use of artefacts, from a vertical curriculum perspective. With an artefact and the game, the construction of the “sense” of three aspects of natural number was promoted: cardinal, ordinal and recursive understandings. Therefore, the game encouraged children to acquire the educational objectives expressed in the National Guidelines.

摘要

The experimental teaching experience presented in this chapter was designed using the Theory of Semiotic Mediation and was conducted with 5-year-old children at three Italian kindergarten. The teaching experiment aimed to build the sense of natural number, through a game and the use of artefacts, from a vertical curriculum perspective. With an artefact and the game, the construction of the “sense” of three aspects of natural number was promoted: cardinal, ordinal and recursive understandings. Therefore, the game encouraged children to acquire the educational objectives expressed in the National Guidelines.
