Retrofitting Existing Buildings to Achieve Nearly Zero Energy Standards
摘要
Retrofitting existing residential and public buildings with energy-efficient measures has been investigated in this chapter. Particularly, in-depth case studies were analyzed and the result showed that retrofitting interventions, such as enhanced insulation, efficient glazing, and integration of renewable energy technologies lead to significant energy demand reduction and cost savings. In conclusion, this chapter could assist architects, engineers, and policymakers in implementing renewable energy in retrofitting existing building stock and establish energy-efficient building standards and policies.
