A Liminal World
摘要
A number of inferences can be drawn from our assessment of contemporary Mexican religiosity in the context of the ongoing visceral non-state violence. While I have situated the rise of alternative belief systems as a response mechanism or antidote to the prevailing anarchy and insecurity, it also raises many important lines of inquiry. Moving away from one’s primary religion and religious identity and embracing a belief that is considered contradictory and spurious raises all sorts of concerns.
