Educational Laboratory Supervisors’ Perceptions of the Role of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Achieving Laboratory Quality Assurance Criteria
摘要
The study aims to investigate the laboratory supervisors’ and assistant supervisors’ perceptions in the colleges of the University of Anbar regarding the role of artificial intelligence tools in achieving the quality assurance standards of educational laboratory. Additionally, the study seeks to explore the differences in participants’ perceptions toward the role of AI tools, attributed to the nature of the educational laboratory specialization. The study sample consisted of 18 laboratory supervisors and assistant supervisors from the College of Arts, College of Science, College of Engineering, College of Education for Humanities, Central Research Lab, and College of Education for Women at the University of Anbar for the academic year 2024–2025. The research followed the descriptive method, and a semi-structure interview was used to collect the study data. The validity and reliability of the study instrument were established, and the data were analyzed by following the lab quality assurance criteria and their elements. The result revealed that AI tools can assist in preparing a guide for implementing academic training procedures, support the calibration program, and training plans based on evaluation results. They help in conducting the classification of laboratory materials and devices. They support lab design, equipment, identifying risks, assessment of laboratory samples. Lab quality assurance criteria are suitable for all educational labs, except safety and security in language and geography labs. It is concluded that AI tools can assist in academic training procedures, calibration program, staff training, laboratory records, infrastructure requirements, safety, assessment of laboratory samples, documentation, and inspection recording.
