This study undertakes a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to identify trends and future research directions in smart manufacturing research in India, focusing on production. A thorough examination of research progressions, highly cited articles, authors, co-citations, and leading countries and institutions was conducted using Scopus database The analysis of 338 documents revealed notable patterns, including the most productive year, prominent authors, institutions, and countries. Eight thematic clusters were identified, providing insights into the current state of research in smart manufacturing production. This study informs researchers about the field's current landscape and outlines future research directions, contributing to the advancement of smart manufacturing research in Indian context.
