Catalysts of Innovation: Success Factors for Business Incubators in the Sultanate of Oman in Alignment with Oman Vision 2040
摘要
This study evaluated the performance of business incubators in Oman by assessing respondents’ perception towards their support offerings, management acumen, and their impact. Data from 25 respondents, which included one entrepreneur and one manager from each of the incubators, were collected through in-depth interviews, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, as well as Chi-Square and ANOVA tests to determine the differences in respondents’ perceptions based on their role and experience. Many of the respondents, particularly within the parameters of infrastructure, technology, networking, as well as leadership and mentorship, have a favorable view of the incubators. The tests also showed that there are no significant differences between the type and level of respondents, providing evidence for the lack of bias in perception. Qualitative content analysis showed that in addition to mentorship, other key indicators of success included strategic partnerships, access to funding, and innovation. This directly aligns with Oman Vision 2040’s goals of nurturing innovation and working towards the expansion of the private sector and the inclusion of all levels of entrepreneurship.
