The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the Selection and Recruitment Process in the Energy Sector in the Sultanate of Oman

The objective of this study is to scrutinize how AI would affect the recruitment and selection process in the energy industry in the Sultanate of Oman. The Research applied a descriptive-analytical method and the instrument used was an electronic questionnaire which reached 408 sector employees from seven companies. The study concentrated on three dimensions of AI applications: speed, cost saving and decision quality and their impact on the effectiveness in recruitment operations. The findings showed that the impact of each dimension on enhancing selection and recruitment processes was statistically significant. AI facilitated the faster processing, lower hiring costs and higher quality of decisions about which candidates to hire. The study proposes AI reinforcement in all stages of hiring process, ensuring adequate training for personnel, and updating the internal policies according to demands imposed by digital governance.
