The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Forming Information Competence Among Technical University Students

Modern society is characterized by digitalization and globalization of the education sector. The introduction of various digital tools such as neural networks, AI and others has an impact on the implementation of these processes. The purpose of this study is to study the application of artificial intelligence in the specialized training of students in technical universities. The article presents an analysis of the results of an empirical study conducted with students from two random specialties, but from two different faculties at the Technical University - Gabrovo (Bulgaria). A conceptual model for the application of AI in the training of students in technical universities has been created, which aims to increase the quality of training and improve their information literacy and competence. Some strengths and weaknesses of AI in training have been analyzed.
