The implementation of smart manufacturing in electronics is based on the use of a number of technologies, including the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). Company managers must be able to understand both the advantages and disadvantages of these new technologies in order to organize efficient manufacturing process and creation of high-quality products. The role of training institutions is particularly important in preparing competent and responsible managers who can correctly make decisions on the extent and in what way to implement AI-based solutions. The aim of the paper is to present a survey regarding the opinions of students and experts on the use of AI in the electronics manufacturing and in the decision making process. The results show that the majority of respondents to the survey report both the advantages and challenging issues of AI. The attitudes are generally positive, emphasizing that AI should be used transparently, responsibly and ethically by company managers.
