Omnipresence of Operational Codes
摘要
Operational codes are the basis for life. They guide individuals, groups, countries, and international organizations. Operational codes have been recognized since the legal Code of Ur-Nammu of the Sumerian civilization as far back as 5500 bce and the Ten Commandments. Countries, ethnic groups, and other entities prescribe rules of conduct (operational codes) for individuals so that they can live together in society harmoniously. After defining the 3 basic components of operational codes, examples are provided in regard to etiquette, bureaucracies, foreign policies, religions, cultures, sports, games, science, and legal norms. Operational codes exist at the micro-, meso-, and macro-levels. Humans and even animals operate on the basis of operational codes, some self-made, others imposed, and are demonstrated to be the basic component of life itself.
