Now we arrive at a topic that has distinct similarities with human society although this is not widely readily recognized. This involves the concept that humans can employ when facing an adversary that cannot be controlled: “If you can’t beat them, join them”; in other words, using the virus or its elements to one’s advantage. Specifically, we will examine how the arsenal of viral attack-weapons can be identified and repurposed for use as defense components (or counteragents) to combat the same homologous virus. This is analogous to human spies who are ‘turned’ into becoming double agents with a new ideology to assist their previous ‘enemy’ defeat the opposition. In essence, the viral weaponry targeting the host is turned against itself.
