Agent & Reaction Control (ARC)
摘要
Here in this chapter, I define, explain, and apply Agent & Reaction Control (ARC): we are free because, if and only if, and to the extent that we can deliberately perform the kinds of actions which reflect our goodWillgood will or bad willWillbad will and to which a suitably-placed observer reacts with resentment, gratitude, anger, love, and/or another of the reactive attitudesReactive attitude. When I steal a cookie, I am free because (a) I express my bad willWillbad will toward the person who bought the cookie and (b) an unbiased and keen observer would (and, perhaps, does) resent me.
