The Pomac Forest Historical Sanctuary (SHBP—Santuario Histórico Bosque de Pómac) is a Natural Protected Area located in the Lambayeque Region—Peru, cradle of the Sicán culture that developed between the eighth and fourteenth centuries A.D., it is home to the largest Tropical Dry Forest in South America. It is considered one of the 100 green destinations worldwide due to its great natural and cultural value. The main subject of study was the tourism-related businesses that offer products and services to visitors to the Sanctuary. This study aims to analyse the perception of local tourism entrepreneurs on the environmental impact of tourism activities in the SHBP. The research used a mixed approach, including 20 local entrepreneurs, field visits, semi-structured interviews, and a survey application. The main result was the need to strengthen the development of ecotourism based on the attitude towards the conservation of the SHBP. The research’s theoretical contribution is to understand ecotourism in a Natural Protected Area better, following the basic principles of sustainability to which a tourism enterprise should aspire, and in a practical way to contribute to public policies and decision-making in tourism management in the SHBP on the part of stakeholders.
