The literature review underscores the potential consequences of inadequate Maritime English proficiency, emphasizing its link to maritime accidents. Analyzing the findings leads to the acceptance of the hypothesis that poor Maritime English proficiency results in maritime accidents and other issues, shedding light on how communication limitations contribute to accidents. The report highlights that despite ample evidence linking inadequate Maritime English proficiency to maritime accidents, some experienced seafarers tend to overlook its importance, inadvertently contributing to a significant number of accidents at sea.
