Assessing the Impact of Digital Bureaucracy on Public Employee Satisfaction

This research investigates the impact of digital bureaucracy on employee satisfaction within the Jordanian public sector throughout its digital transformation period. Digital technologies revolutionize public administration by creating new opportunities to better service delivery and administrative processes while enhancing citizen engagement. The transformation process creates substantial changes to internal work procedures which impact employee experience and job satisfaction. The research applies quantitative cross-sectional analysis to evaluate public sector employee satisfaction after digital system implementation. Data was gathered from 311 public sector employees across various ministries and governmental departments using structured surveys which investigated their experiences with digital workloads and task-based communication. The research applied descriptive and inferential statistical methods together with t-tests and correlation coefficients to investigate these patterns. The findings reveal a nuanced relationship that digital tools enhance efficiency and information accessibility for employees they also generate dissatisfaction through increased workloads and reduced autonomy. The research findings show that digital reform initiatives must include human factors and inclusivity as fundamental components of bureaucratic processes. This study offers crucial recommendations for public sector decision-makers who wish to enhance digitalization advantages while safeguarding worker well-being.
