Spectral Efficiency Improvement Using Joint Non-orthogonal Multiple Access and Spatial Modulation NOMA-SM
摘要
SM-MIMO system refers to the Spatial Modulation-transmission technique that was introduced as an energy efficient Multiple Input-Multiple Output systems. Only single transmit antenna is activated in SM at a time. Therefore, the activated antenna and constellation size of Amplitude Phase modulated data are used for the indexing of the information bits. In the SM, the Inter-Channel-Interference (ICI) is avoided, which reduces hardware complexity, and power consumption. Non-Orthogonal-Multiple-Access (NOMA) is a hopeful technique which is used as a multiple access scheme over power domain for 6G era wireless networks. A novel approach to improve spectral efficiency and performance enhancement for 5G systems and beyond was presented by combining NOMA with SM. The spatial domain utilization in NOMA systems enables them to simultaneously serve a number of users using different communication resources, time, frequency, or space without the need for full MIMO complexity. This joint approach enables the development of a scalable and energy efficient communication system that enhances user capacity and efficient resource utilization. Improved performance enhancement of NOMA was carried through jointly applying NOMA-SM schemes to enhance total sum rate in addition to Inter User Interference cancellation and SIC.
