In this paper, the project of a berthing structure of an overpass type is considered. The construction of the berth is planned in a region with unfavorable engineering and geological conditions, increased seismic activity. Complex meteorological processes such as hurricane winds and tornadoes will lead to an increased dynamic effect on the construction of storm waves. Ice and wave spray at subzero air temperatures will lead to a heavier structure due to the coating of its surface with a layer of ice. The scientific support of the project of this facility includes the basic engineering calculations performed by the designers, as well as the results of physical modeling of the wave effect on the berth. Any hydraulic structures are unique due to a number of well-known objective reasons. Their successful design depends on proper scientific support. The basis of scientific support is physical modeling with the impact of extreme values of natural influences on the model of the projected structure. Based on the analysis of the results of experimental studies, recommendations are developed for each specific project. According to the decision of the chief engineer of the project, they are used in the design process, ensuring reliable operation of the designed structures during their estimated service life. The most reliable recommendations are those obtained by physical modeling, taking into account all natural factors inherent in the projected objects.

摘要
