We recall the role played by a trace formula for simple foliated flows in Deninger’s program. Then we recall the trace formula achieved in the simpler case, where the flow does not preserve any leaf. Next, we explain the main ideas of the general case, which is much more involved and needs quite a few new ingredients, like b-calculus, conormal and dual-conormal distributions, zeta functions, bounded geometry, and understanding simple foliated flows. The main theorems are stated in this introduction, the last one being the trace formula.

摘要

We recall the role played by a trace formula for simple foliated flows in Deninger’s program. Then we recall the trace formula achieved in the simpler case, where the flow does not preserve any leaf. Next, we explain the main ideas of the general case, which is much more involved and needs quite a few new ingredients, like b-calculus, conormal and dual-conormal distributions, zeta functions, bounded geometry, and understanding simple foliated flows. The main theorems are stated in this introduction, the last one being the trace formula.
