Wearable Textile Antennas on Jeans Substrate for Biomedical Applications

A Rectangular Co-Planar Waveguide fed patch antenna and an S-shaped patch antenna on jeans substrate are designed and fabricated for wearable biomedical applications. The free space performance analysis of parameters like radiation performance, reflection coefficient with on-body scenarios are reviewed and both the antennas are performing well at the ISM band frequency range. The Specific absorption rate (SAR) values are simulated with human phantom tissues of skin, fat and muscle and the results obtained are within international standards and it can be concluded from the results obtained that these proposed textile antennas can be used for biomedical applications like patient monitoring, due to ease of integration into clothes also finds applications in sports and military.
