The GIST-3DR project is designed to change how dental implants are planned and placed by bringing together advanced 3D Augmented Reality (AR) and cutting-edge model segmentation technology. At its core, the system aims to personalize and automate implant generation, directly tackling issues like poorly sized implants, injuries to nerve channels, and limited visibility in critical areas. By processing CT scan data, GIST-3DR creates detailed 3D models of a patient’s oral structure, giving dentists a clear view for planning and executing procedures with remarkable accuracy. GIST-3DR also supports pre-surgical planning, remote collaboration through AR, and smooth integration with CAM systems for efficient implant manufacturing & to make the technology more practical for everyday dental and medical use. By continuously evolving, GIST-3DR isn’t just improving the technical side of dental implantology. The clear results from head-to-head comparisons show that this approach offers more accuracy and reliability than both traditional manual planning and earlier automated solutions, setting a higher standard for future dental procedures.
