Profree Lie algebras are the analogs of the free Lie algebras in the category of enriched Lie algebras. If \(V = \varprojlim V_\alpha \) , the profree Lie algebra onV , \(\overline {\mathbb L}_V\) , is the inverse limit of the \(\overline {\mathbb L}_{V_\alpha }\) , where \(\overline {\mathbb L}_{V_\alpha }\) is the pronilpotent completion of the free Lie algebra \({\mathbb L}_{V_\alpha }\) . The main point of the section is a characterization of the profree Lie algebras in terms of the associated quadratic Sullivan algebras.
