Climate change has a range of ecological impacts, including sea level rise, tidal flooding, and reduced fish catches and other marine resources. These impacts create social and economic vulnerability and force women to adapt and survive by helping their families. This chapter examines resilience strategies implemented by women in responding to the impacts of climate change in the northern coastal area of Semarang, Central Java. Through a qualitative approach, this research identifies coastal communities’ main challenges and the adaptive steps taken to overcome their economic vulnerability. The findings suggest that women have a significant role in managing household resources and creating effective adaptation mechanisms, including forming groups in communities. These strategies include diversifying livelihoods, sustainable management of natural resources, strengthening social networks, and utilising information technology. This research provides important insights for developing future designs and policies that support climate change resilience among the women of coastal communities as well as encouraging the government and private sectors to create more appropriate mitigation and adaptation programs reflecting the characteristics of local communities.
