It reaffirms the critical environmental and social functions of green spacesGreen spaces ranging from climate regulationClimate regulation, air purification, and biodiversity enhancement to mental and physical healthPhysical health benefits for residents. The analysis reveals significant governanceEcological governance and planning gaps that have accelerated the decline of green cover under rapid urbanization and population pressures. Existing institutional frameworks are characterized by fragmented responsibilities, limited financial allocation, and inadequate community engagement. To address these challenges, the chapter proposes a set of strategic interventions, including green-inclusive urban planning, equitable distribution of green assets, adoption of nature-based solutionsNature-based solutions, capacity building, and public–private-community partnerships. The chapter concludes by advocating a consolidated, climate-resilient policy framework aimed at harmonizing urban development with long-term ecological sustainability.
