Our laboratory has developed many different walking assist devices. However, even if physical assistance is provided, it is difficult for the user to maintain motivation unless they are emotionally excited. Therefore, we developed two types of walking promotion systems using images. One is an avatar type, and the other is a footprint type. They promote walking exercise by using mixed reality, which combines virtual reality and augmented reality. We report here on the effects of each type on the user’s excitement level, as confirmed by changes in the LF/HF ratio while the system is in use.

摘要

Our laboratory has developed many different walking assist devices. However, even if physical assistance is provided, it is difficult for the user to maintain motivation unless they are emotionally excited. Therefore, we developed two types of walking promotion systems using images. One is an avatar type, and the other is a footprint type. They promote walking exercise by using mixed reality, which combines virtual reality and augmented reality. We report here on the effects of each type on the user’s excitement level, as confirmed by changes in the LF/HF ratio while the system is in use.
