East Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, have been called “developmentalist countries” and have achieved state-led, compressed modernization, industrialization, and rapid economic growth (Johnson 1982). However, this process has also resulted in widespread environmental destruction and severe damage, including health problems, economic loss, and social isolation, for local residents. In particular, Korea has experienced massive ecosystem destruction and environmental pollution through industrialization centered on construction projects such as highway development, multipurpose dam construction, heavy chemical industrial complexes, and large-scale housing projects (Lee 1993).

摘要
