There are compelling reasons to consider the existence of a “liminal space” between life and death—a transitional realm where the two intersect. This space possesses unique qualities and holds potential for enriching our psychological depth and understanding. The liminal space offers us the opportunity to approach death in a way that makes it more acceptable, even welcoming it as a companion rather than perceiving it as an enemy. Four kinds of meeting spaces between life and death are exposed: between death and art, death and humor, death and play, and death and games. Together, these phenomena show that death can be welcomed as an enriching companion, rather than a frightening or repugnant opponent.
