Contribution Title Blockchain Integration in Moroccan Banking: Opportunities and Challenges for Banque Populaire du Maroc
摘要
This study explores the potential integration of blockchain technology in the Moroccan banking sector, with a specific focus on Banque Populaire du Maroc (BCP). Through a mixed-method approach combining qualitative analysis and quantitative survey data, the research examines customer attitudes, potential benefits, and challenges associated with blockchain adoption in banking services. The findings reveal a moderate level of blockchain awareness among customers, with 65% having heard of the technology but only 35% claiming a basic understanding. While 60% of respondents believe blockchain offers more secure banking transactions, trust in blockchain-based financial services remains relatively low. The study identifies key challenges including regulatory uncertainties, the need for substantial technological investment, and building customer trust. Despite these obstacles, the research concludes that blockchain integration presents significant opportunities for BCP to enhance security, efficiency, and innovation in its services. The study recommends targeted educational initiatives, strategic investments in infrastructure and talent, and proactive engagement with regulators to successfully implement blockchain technology and position BCP as a leader in the digital transformation of Moroccan banking.
