What Is the Entrepreneurial Mindset and Why Is It Needed?
摘要
The entrepreneurial mindset—defined as the inclination to discover, evaluate, and actively pursue opportunities—is an essential skill set for all students, regardless of discipline. Far from being limited to start-up ventures, entrepreneurial thinking equips engineers to drive innovation, lead continuous improvement, and contribute meaningfully within organizations and in their own lives. These skills enable engineers to navigate the intersection of technological feasibility, customer desirability, and business viability, resulting in designs that deliver value and impact. Consequently, engineering programs are increasingly embracing the Entrepreneurship for All movement. This chapter introduces the entrepreneurial mindset, highlights its relevance to engineering practice, and explores how its integration into engineering education can prepare students to navigate complexity, drive innovation, and create value in diverse contexts.
