This chapter examines what is the criteria for just AI. It is divided into three parts. In the first part, the concept of justice is examined for the purpose of finding a working definition with universal reach. The second part uses the proposed definition to identify what constitutes a just AI system and evaluates the conceptualization by examining its embodiment in the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Act.
