Professional Perspectives
摘要
Scally presents findings from a training workshop with professionals including those working within children’s services, women’s and men’s domestic abuse support services, legal services, and court report writing. Professional perspectives on child contact in the context of intimate partner violence and abuse are presented in the form of ecograms and group discussions. Key challenges identified are analysed using a systems framework (Bronfenbrenner, 1979), including perspectives on government services, family networks, employment, and the wider community. Issues such as lack of resources, multi-agency working, and professional attitudes are indicated to have an impact on survivor and child safety and wellbeing. The chapter works towards goals 5 (gender equality) and 16 (peace, justice, and strong institutions) of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
