Scally explores survivor experiences of the contact process, including survivor experiences of professionals within the contact system, and the formal arrangements that were applied by the courts. It is necessary to understand how the system is perceived as operating within England and Wales by those using the family courts. In addition, the chapter explores progression of contact over time. The chapter works towards goals 5 (gender equality) and 16 (peace, justice, and strong institutions) of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
