Nuclear medicine is a relatively new and rapidly changing specialty. It is based on the utilization of radioactivity to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Diagnostically, this imaging field provides assessment of the physiological functions of organs and diseases. Artificial intelligence is increasingly used to further improve the effectiveness for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
