Wasteinmotion: A Digital Bridge Between Agro-waste and Sustainable Construction
摘要
The WasteInMotion project introduces a digital platform that facilitates the valorization of agro-industrial waste for construction applications. Research shows that incorporating these by-products can enhance the physical and mechanical properties of building materials while reducing their environmental footprint. By systematically analyzing and classifying residues, WasteInMotion strengthens cross-sector connections and encourages sustainable resource use. A key aspect of this project is digital transition, which plays a fundamental role in optimizing waste management. The platform functions as an intelligent matchmaking system, identifying available agro-industrial waste and suggesting its most suitable applications in construction. By centralizing and digitizing this process, it enhances efficiency, minimizes logistical barriers, and accelerates circular economy adoption. Technologies such as real-time tracking, automated data processing, and digital resource management further improve material flows and decision-making processes. This project benefits multiple stakeholders: the agro-industry gains a cost-effective and sustainable waste management solution, the construction sector gains access to innovative and eco-friendly raw materials, and policymakers receive valuable data to support circular economy policies. Researchers benefit from a comprehensive digital database, while society as a whole experiences reduced landfill waste, lower CO₂ emissions, and the conservation of natural resources. By integrating digital innovation with sustainable waste management, WasteInMotion transforms how industries approach resource utilization, fostering collaboration and driving sustainability in the digital age.
