The measurement of material hardness in various industrial sectors remains a relevant topic today because it is one of the most significant operational indicators of components and structures. This parameter enables the assessment of their strength and wear resistance, which are critical determinants of the reliability and durability of parts and products. The purpose of this case study is to develop a training simulator that allows you to simulate the process of measuring hardness using the Vickers method. In this study, the authors propose to simulate the process of hardness measurement by using the Scilab software environment. The device that is designed to test materials according to the Through-Indenter Viewing method (which is based on the optical method), was taken as a prototype. The paper also proposes an assessment of uncertainties in hardness measurement using the presented method. This trainer can be used for studying or improving the qualifications of staff and students especially in the context of distance education or in safe conditions and without spending additional resources on preparation to implement the tasks of sustainable development within the framework of the concept of “Industry 4.0”.

摘要
