Determining the Expedient Scheme for Delivering Goods by Road Transport in International Traffic
摘要
The article is devoted to solving the scientific and practical problem of determining the most expedient scheme for the delivery of goods by road transport in international traffic. In the context of globalisation and digital transformation, choosing the optimal logistics strategy is a key factor in efficiency. The paper proposes a comprehensive toolkit for comparative analysis of four alternative schemes: direct delivery, consolidation in the country of origin, deconsolidation in the country of destination, and a combined scheme. To assess effectiveness, a mathematical model has been developed that takes into account logistics costs and delivery times in detail, with a particular focus on modelling cross-docking operations. A full-factor experiment was conducted, the results of which established zones of feasibility for each scheme and built regression models for forecasting costs. It has been proven that consolidation is effective for small batches, while direct delivery is effective for large batches. The practical significance lies in the development of software products for simulation modelling that support informed management decisions.
