The chapter discusses the life and times of the Turkish intellectual Said Nursi comprehensively. It gives an account of his genealogy, early education, attachment to the Sufi Orders, his endeavors to reform the education system and concept of Madrassah al-Zahra and his efforts to envision this dream, his period of exiles, trials, and schools of Joseph, his participation in the Great War-I, his participation in country’s independence movement, his membership of Dar al Hikmat-i Islamia, Nur movement, and commencement of Risale-i Nur, Dershanes, students and his death.
