Introduction
摘要
This introductory chapter provides an overview of the editorial volume “Corporate Digital Responsibility (CDR): Insights, Cases, and Tools for Translating Principles into Practice”. It starts by elaborating the evolving nexus between digital transformation and corporate responsibility, leading to the emerging concept of CDR. In an era where digital technologies shape economic, social, and environmental systems, organizations face the dual challenge of harnessing technological innovation while upholding ethical, sustainable, and accountable practices. The editorial provides a comprehensive overview of how CDR extends traditional corporate responsibility into the digital realm, addressing issues such as data governance, algorithmic transparency, fairness, and digital inclusion. The three parts of the editorial volume are briefly introduced, including all the chapters, their focus topic, and the authors, together with their respective affiliations. The first section develops theoretical foundations and conceptual clarity; the second explores real-world applications across industries; and the third reflects on systemic and policy-oriented approaches to embedding responsibility in digital ecosystems. Together, the contributions illustrate how CDR can move from aspirational discourse to operational practice, bridging gaps between normative ideals and organizational realities.
