Introduction
摘要
This revised and extended introduction outlines the difficulties political decision makers faces when confronted with the complex issue of climate change: Since climate change is an abstract, complex challenge politicians turn to experts and advisers to formulate policy options and for getting assistance in communicating political agendas. By focusing on the interplay of scientific researchers, think tanks and political decision-makers the book does away with convenient myths of development towards more “evidence-based” and more rational policy making. The complexity of the underlying science and the potential far-reaching social and economic consequences of adapting make it not only possible but for some also highly desirable to distort or reject scientific expertise on climate change.
