The Study of an Operator’s Perception of Visual Information and Speed of Reaction to Moving Objects in Electronic Displays and Virtual Environments
摘要
The paper investigates an effect made by a method of visual information presentation to a human operator during the control process of remote technological objects, and particularly, perception of information from electronic displays and deep immersion of a human operator into the virtual environment. We conducted experiments using psychophysiological tests for an operator’s speed of reaction to moving and approximating objects, examined the prospects of applying the machine-learning and fuzzy-logic methods for investigations of potential occupational aptitude of operators based on the results of the psychophysiological tests. The paper also provides recommendations for the use of virtual environments and displaying information on electronic devices in various situations of operator activity.
