Breast cancer, affecting millions of women globally, stands as the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women. Early detection, combined with advanced surgical and oncological treatments, is crucial for improving survival rates. A diagnosis elicits fear, uncertainty, and concerns regarding treatment efficacy, potential metastasis, and the impact on one’s life. Patients may experience isolation, lack of support, and additional stressors, such as infertility, childcare, marital strain, unemployment, and medical expenses. Breast care nurses, as highly skilled professionals, engage in patient care throughout various stages, from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation, symptom management, and survivorship. Acting as the primary point of contact within the multidisciplinary team, they apprise team members of any changes in patients’ health. They play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families during challenging times. This chapter highlights the comprehensive and empathetic support provided by breast care nurses to patients and their families, addressing their needs throughout the disease journey. By examining the multifaceted contributions of breast care nurses within a scholarly context, the chapter highlights their indispensable role in managing breast disease and improving patient outcomes.
