Education in this era needs new innovative ideas to keep students engaged, and help them interact and help other classmates understand their learning materials, and process new ideas, especially when working in groups. This study discusses how technology tools like Augmented Reality (AR) can support a cooperative learning environment to make the classroom more vital and engaging. This study examined students’ interaction, positive interdependence, and individual accountability in the classroom. Researchers introduce a learning model of cooperative learning aided with AR to improve students’ interaction, positive interdependency, and individual accountability. To apply this study, two setups were applied in the classroom: first, applying Cooperative Learning (CL) supported with Augmented Reality (AR) in the new learning process, and second, using traditional grouping. In the first setup (Group 1), students were distributed into groups based on CL and given an AR-supported learning material. The second group (Group 2) was given traditional learning material. Group 2 was asked to learn using the traditional learning materials and answer the questions given. Group 1 (CL) was given AR-supported learning material and instructions on the new learning process. Group 1 was required to interact with each other, help each other to understand the learning material, and succeed based on cooperative learning strategies. At the end of the learning process, the two groups were given a questionnaire and had a semi-structured interview to have a better understanding of the effect of the suggested learning process on students’ interaction, positive interdependence, and individual accountability. The results between the two groups were analyzed. Then, group 2 took a crossover session and used the new learning process to better comprehend the suggested new learning process.

摘要
