The UK building regulations require all new dwellings to provide adequate protection against the risk of overheating. Dynamic thermal modelling may be used to demonstrate compliance. Models must follow the guidance in CIBSE document TM59, which prescribes the criteria that define overheating and the weather data to be used when modelling. New weather data has been developed to reflect the latest projections of future warming of the UK. This paper illustrates the results of applying the new weather data to predict the current and future overheating risk in a typical single bedroom apartment.

摘要

The UK building regulations require all new dwellings to provide adequate protection against the risk of overheating. Dynamic thermal modelling may be used to demonstrate compliance. Models must follow the guidance in CIBSE document TM59, which prescribes the criteria that define overheating and the weather data to be used when modelling. New weather data has been developed to reflect the latest projections of future warming of the UK. This paper illustrates the results of applying the new weather data to predict the current and future overheating risk in a typical single bedroom apartment.
